Restaurant mocks LA Lakers after terrible season

The LA Lakers have not had the best of seasons. They finished with a 27-55 record, their worst since 1958 and missed the playoffs by quite some margin. However, now one California restaurant is rubbing salt into the wound with a mocking newspaper ad.

The advertisement which comes from Upper West and was placed in the LA Times today reads: "The Upper West restaurant would like to congratulate the Los Angeles Lakers on an amazing playoff run." and runs a line of their motto underneath: 'wholly focused on food'.

I'm assuming here that the ad is being clever here in line with their motto and not just completely unaware that the Lakers are terrible. Or even worse, confusing the Lakers with their crosstown rival Clippers, who did just complete their playoff run.

Even so, this advertisement is likely to infuriate proud Lakers fans who were as upset as anyone when their season was flushed away along with Kobe Bryant's injury and Dwight Howard's departure to the Houston Rockets.

However, Lakers fans can hold onto the fact that they secured the seventh pick in the upcoming NBA draft and so have a reasonable chance of improving on their disastrous 2013-14 campaign.
