Charles Barkley tells Spurs fans they suck in live TV rant

Charles Barkley's on going battle with the people of San Antonio continued last night during the Spurs' playoff game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

After enduring a torrent of abuse during the Spurs 112-77 Game Two win, with chants of "Barkley sucks" reverberating around the AT&T center in response to the former NBA star's recent criticism of the cities female population, Barkley could not help but fight back during his post game TV duty.

As shown in the video above, the former Suns man is busy interviewing three-point hero Danny Green when he takes exception to the abuse heading his way.

As well as telling the Spurs faithful that they suck, he promises to "beat them like a drum" if they ever get too close.

The Spurs' 21-point man Danny Green does his best to defuse the situation on the other end of the interview but Barkley clearly felt he had to get his feelings off his chest.

The ill-feeling between Barkley and the Spurs fans stems from the formers comments in which he insinuated that the women of San Antonio had a weight problem and this latest outburst is hardly going to help him go up in their estimations.

While the whole thing remains in good spirits (hopefully) it is still surprising that a figure of the stature of Barkley can get away with such blatant criticism of a franchise on live TV with no sign of a reprimand.

As Barkley says:

"My job is getting them to turn on the TV and watch."
