Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney has taken time out from extensive preparations to be fit for this summer's World Cup to launch a competition aimed at giving something back to a a whopping 20 million fans on Facebook.
Rooney passed the milestone earlier this week while stepping up his bid to get fit and firing for the summer's South American showpiece at England's training camp in Faro.
The 28-year-old made a short post prior to leaving for Vale de Lobo to tell fans they can win a pair of his distinctive yellow and black Nike Hypervenom's, simply by liking the post with the clip attached.
In the 14-second effort Rooney addresses his social media following by sharing: "Reached 20 Million fans! Thank you for the support. I've decided to give away a pair of my boots.
"All you have to do is 'LIKE' this post for a chance to win. Good Luck!"
Red Devils and Three Lions fans alike now face a fight to win the yellow and black boots, with the winner to be announced in due course.
England supporters in particular will be hoping Rooney puts the same boots on the back pages for all the right reasons this summer, as the feared forward bids to make a massive impact on the South American showpiece.
Rooney is still searching for his first World Cup goal but fitness permitting will get at least three matches to change that in Brazil, as England gear up to face Italy, Uruguay and Costa Rica in a genuine group of death.
