Southampton full-back Luke Shaw is not thinking about a potential move to Manchester United and is instead 100 per cent focussed on the World Cup with England.

The teenage defender admitted he was surprised to earn the call-up by Roy Hodgson, and he will travel to Brazil as Leighton Baines's understudy.

After a fantastic season with Southampton in the Premier League he has been linked with the likes of United, but the £30m-rated 18-year-old says he's not paying any attention to the transfer rumours.

"That's something that is not even on my mind," Shaw told the Daily Mirror. "Transfer talk is completely gone - I am here to focus on England and England only."

Shaw is one of three Southampton players called up by Hodgson, as he's joined by Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert.

Lallana has also been linked with a big money summer move, with Manchester United also thought to be interested in the 26-year-old.

Shaw meanwhile was also reportedly a target for Liverpool and Chelsea at various points in the season although United now reportedly lead the race. Several newspapers carried reports earlier this month that United had made a £27m bid for the teenager although this has not been confirmed.
