Donald Sterling's wife wants full control of LA Clippers sale

Donald Sterling has finally given over the reigns to his LA Clippers franchise as his estranged wife has taken over the NBA team, according to sources.

Racists comments that he made in private became public last month and caused uproar across the league.

TMZ Sports has reported today that Sterling has given his wife control of the Clippers, and it will be her who negotiates with the NBA to sell the team.

Naturally, Shelly Sterling will want do the deal on her terms, with Donald understood to have been forced into this decision because he feared the league would force an involuntary sale of the team.

Shelly is said to be willing to sue the NBA if they force an involuntary sale, with her currently aiming to sell on her terms and in full control.

This could be a worrying situation for the NBA, with the Sterling's able to sell to who they want. A situation such as the one that the New York Post have reported, with friend of Sterling Antony Ressler ready to bid for the team, and scenarios the league wants to avoid.

Whatever the talk right now, Sterling has damaged the league with those racist comments he made that became public, and a hearing is set for June 3 at which team owners will decide the future of his ownership of the Clippers.
