There are only six days remaining until the second NXT special event; Takeover, and another match was announced on the 22nd May edition of NXT.

What we took away from last week’s episode is Tyson Kidd will be challenging NXT Champion Adrian Neville at NXT: Takeover after he defeated both Tyler Breeze and Sami Zayn in a triple threat, number one contenders match.

Also last week, The Ascension defeated Elias Samson and Buddy Murphy, before being challenged – and accepting – a championship match against the team of El Local and Kalisto. Charlotte advanced to the Women’s Championship tournament finals by defeating Alexa Bliss and Mojo Rawley defeated Aiden English.

Big Cass defeated Angelo Dawkins whilst NXT Commissioner John Bradshaw Layfield told Bo Dallas he could potentially challenge for the NXT Championship – if he could defeat Big E. tonight, that’s not all, because if Bo loses then he must leave NXT.

And that’s exactly how we start NXT with Bo Dallas making his way to the ring and telling his fans to never stop Bo-lieving and that they don’t need to worry because he will never leave them and he will never go anywhere. As he continues sucking up to the fans he gives himself the title of ‘Mr. NXT’, and the fans definitely make their feelings clear to that.

Match One: The fans are firmly behind their former NXT Champion as he took on the Bo Dallas, who had an impressive 280 day reign as NXT Champion until. Surprisingly, it wasn’t the best of matches and Big E. was the dominant superstar and Dallas’ frustrations began to show, after Dallas tried to take off a turnbuckle, he was met big a Big Ending and Big E. picks up the pin fall victory.

Result: Big E. defeats Bo Dallas – Bo Dallas leaves NXT

After the match Big E. plays to the crowd as he leaves, whereas Bo Dallas is still inside of the ring and is bawling like a baby, drooling as he shouts at the fans that he cannot leave as they sing him goodbye. During a commercial break Bo Dallas tells the fans that they are the ones that should be leaving, because they didn't Bo-lieve.

Match Two: The second match of the night see’s Paige return home to NXT as the Diva’s Champion takes on Tamina; whom she defeated at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view. The match was quite short and a botch finish didn’t do the match any favours either, Tamina went for the ‘Superfly Splash’ and it looked as if she fell on Paige’s knees and pinned herself, either way Paige picked up the win.

Result: Paige defeats Tamina Snuka

Match Three: Adam Rose and his Rosebuds returned to NXT after an underwhelming couple of weeks on the main roster, nevertheless he took on rival Camacho in another less-than-average match which we don’t usually see at NXT. Camacho was in control for most of the match but Rose did fight back into it, only for Camacho to roll out of the ring and the referee counted him out.

Result: Adam Rose defeats Camacho

Match Four: The second semi-final for the vacant NXT Women’s Championship, where Natalya took on Sasha Banks with the winner taking on Charlotte in the final next week at NXT: Takeover. This was surprisingly the best match on the night and credit to Natalya who looked dominant and also allowed a younger talent in Sasha Banks to look like a genuine threat, an enjoyable divas match with some impressive manoeuvres from both women, but Natalya’s experience proved to be too much as she locked in the deadly Sharpshooter, leaving Banks with no choice but to submit.

Result: Natalya defeats Sasha Banks – takes on Charlotte in the final next week

Main Event: Main event time and our NXT Champion Adrian Neville goes one on one against Curt Hawkins, and what a match it was. Neville looked extremely impressive and credit to Hawkins for selling every single move including the Red Arrow, Neville’s finishing manoeuvre to end this match.

Result: Adrian Neville defeats Curt Hawkins

After the match the number one contender to Adrian Neville’s NXT Championship makes his way out for the first time tonight, and tells Adrian Neville that he intends on taking the championship next week at NXT: Takeover. He highlights that he has competed on Monday Night Raw, Friday Night SmackDown, he’s held the WWE Tag Team Championship and has already had a WrestleMania moment. He tells Neville that he wants that feeling back again and defeating Neville for the gold is simply a stepping stone on getting back to the success he had on the main roster.

Adrian Neville stops Kidd in his tracks and tells him that nobody can use him as a springboard for their own careers, he tells Kidd he is the future and Tyson Kidd is standing in Adrian Neville’s ring. To conclude the night Adrian Neville tells Tyson Kidd that at NXT: Takeover, the only person taking home gold will be Tyson Kidd’s wife, Natalya.

A decent episode of NXT where we also find out that Adam Rose will take on Camacho once again as Tyler Breeze and Sami Zayn will battle it out to decide who will be the number one contender for the NXT Championship, the matches will take place next week at NXT: Takeover.
