Since the exit of Gareth Bale, Tottenham Hotspur have not had an exceptional left winger and have had a problem on the left side. Spurs are a number of clubs chasing left winger Yevhen Konoplyanka and the London club must do all they can to secure his signature.

According to various reports, Konoplyanka could be available for as little as £12 million which in today's market is a bargain. The Ukraine winger will be very well known to English fans due to stellar performances against England and notably Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League.

Konoplyanka scored a penalty and terrorized Spurs right backs Kyle Walker and Kyle Naughton over the two legs in the Europa League last season. He also played against England in Euro 2012 and was Ukraine's standout performer. He has scored eight goals in 35 appearances for his country, proving his worth on the international stage.

The 24 year old has just come off the back of another great season at Ukrainian club Dnipro. He scored 13 goals in 34 appearances and has shown progress in his performances over the years.

Konoplyanka could still prove to be a risky signing, despite his promise. Previous Ukrainian players have struggled in the Premier League such as former Spur Sergei Rebrov who turned out to be a flop.

However, the risk could reap rewards. Konoplyanka has great vision, searing pace, excellent dribbling and can provide a creative spark. The Ukrainian winger can also play as a right winger, as a number 10 and even in a deeper role where he began his career.

Spurs will face have to fight off competition for Konoplyanka, with Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and other European clubs all reportedly interested.

Yehven Konoplyanka can provide versatility, goals, pace and creativity from the left hand side which Tottenham Hotspur have been lacking since the departure of Gareth Bale.
