‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair is set to become a regular character on TV once more, reports wrestlinginc.com.
Ric Flair is currently scheduled to undergo a full cardiovascular physical before he would be allowed to appear on TV – all new or returning talent now have to undergo this physical in order to compete for the WWE.
If Flair manages to pass that physical at his age then we could be seeing him on our screens on a weekly basis once more, it is almost a guarantee that Flair will now sign the offer the WWE made once he does pass the physical.
Flair will not be an active wrestler on the roster, he will however be appearing as a manager for a superstar and he reportedly requested to manage Dolph Ziggler, somebody who could benefit from having Flair in his corner. However, the WWE have shut down the idea of having Flair manage Ziggler so a potential Ziggler push is not on the horizon.
Instead the WWE want to pair Ric Flair with The Miz once again, The Miz will be returning to the WWE after wrapping up the shooting for WWE Studios film, The Marine 4.
The two paired up previously, where Flair was in The Miz’ corner for weeks and even adopted Flair’s painful submission manoeuvre, the figure four leg lock. The WWE want Flair to help The Miz because they believe he could help elevate The Miz into a top-tier talent once more, a position he was at when he was WWE Champion.
But is that the best way to use Flair? Perhaps that would be wasting Flair’s value as his stock will rise in Ziggler’s corner, mainly because the fans adore Ziggler and they love Ric Flair, putting the two together is a recipe for success and the fans would be firmly behind it and it would allow Ziggler to become relevant again.
If Flair wanted to work with Ziggler, then the WWE should have accepted his request. But we have to wait and see what The Miz can actually achieve once he returns, with Flair in his corner he may just rise up the ladder once more and become a genuine threat to the main event superstars and perhaps even challenge for the gold; as he was one of the best heel champions in recent years when he managed to defeat John Cena at WrestleMania to retain his championship.
But with Ziggler, it’s pretty much a given that Ziggler would be a threat to the main event roster again, he was loved as a champion and the fans would be firmly behind him once more as Flair could guide him to the gold.
We now have to play the waiting game and see whether The Miz and Ric Flair pairing would work for the WWE – or whether it will fail miserably.
