It's no secret that Daniel Bryan was not supposed to be injured, he fought so hard to reach that brass ring at Wrestlemania, and after a turbulent April for the bearded superstar, it seems May was no better for him as he had was forced to undergo neck surgery.
The surgery was a success but it seems the earliest he can now return to the squared circle is Summerslam. So WWE are in need of a saviour!
Remember when WWE was being controlled by Randy Orton back in 2007 and we were told for weeks to break the code? It was finally revealed a few weeks later that it was Y2J and he then made his return to silence the current World Champion? If not, relive it on the video above.
WWE need that now, Triple H and Randy Orton are currently embroiled in their feud with The Shield which means they are out of the running to take the title and Kane and Batista are set to take some time off after Payback next week which means they are also out of the frame.
This doesn't leave a lot of people, Brock Lesnar isn't due to return to WWE yet and people like Cesaro and Rusev could be hindered more than helped by a push towards the title this early in their career.
This is where Jericho comes in. Chris wants to return, he just needs something worth returning for. A few weeks ago there was no place for Chris, but the position WWE are in now could allow Jericho to flourish.
The Money in the Bank pay-per-view is merely a month away and Jericho has never climbed the ladder and grasped that briefcase, earning himself a future world title shot. This could be just the leverage Jericho needs to dust off his wrestling boots and whip the WWE Universe up into a frenzy once more.
There have already been rumours that "Raw is Jericho" is set to be revived and why not, who better than the first ever Undisputed WWF Champion to come and be WWE's saviour for a second time?
Jericho is now a part time superstar and he has stated many times that he is happy to return and put over up and coming talent. So how great would it be for him to return until Summerslam and mentor people like Adam Rose and Bo Dallas into better wrestlers and characters and allow WWE to come out of this situation smelling of roses.
Right now WWE needs Chris Jericho and even though Y2J no longer needs WWE, I think he will heed their call to be their saviour once more.
