The long-awaited rematch of Jon Jones versus Alexander Gustafsson appears to finally have a date and location set - UFC 177 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The two had a fight of the year brawl last year at UFC 165 that saw Jones narrowly take a decision victory over Gustafsson and had fans screaming for more as it was the closest Jones has ever been pushed to the wire.

After initial reports and comments from Dana White that the UFC was looking to take the fight to Gustafsson's home crowd of Sweden, it seems they've backed off of that plan and instead will take it to Vegas.

UFC 177 is set to take place on August 30th from the MGM Grand Arena and according to MMAFighting.com, Alexander Gustafsson has already signed and the UFC is just waiting on Jon Jones to agree on the terms.

The rematch has been in the works ever since the two fought last year and as long as they won their fights following their now legendary clash, the UFC would make them meet again ASAP.

Gustafsson knocked out the previously undefeated Jimi Manuwa at UFC Fight Night: London back in March, while last month Jones disposed of Glover Teixeira with relative ease and a resounding decision victory at UFC 172.

With those formalities out of the way, the MMA world has just been awaiting on the announcement of when and where so they can get hyped for one of the most eagerly anticipated fights in recent history.

Both fighters know what's at stake when they step into the octagon for their fight and a clash with Daniel Cormier awaits the winner of the rematch.

Cormier spent most of his clash with Dan Henderson at UFC 173 on the mat, ragdolling Henderson and making him look as if he were several divisions below him.

Cormier is clearly backing Jon Jones to win as post-fight he called out Jones, saying that the reigning UFC Light Heavyweight champion is dodging him and that he [Jones] needs to understand that "it's his [Cormier's] ring" and that he'll take Jones down "100 times" if needs be.

Jones has yet to respond but with the light heavyweight division closer than ever, he is the man that's wearing the biggest target on his back. Gustafsson and possibly Cormier await and even if he clears those two, Anthony 'Rumble' Johnson and Rashad Evans are threats as well.
