Juan Cuadrado: Profile of Colombia star

Published Add your comment

Juan Cuadrado is another product of what can only be seen as the "Colombian Golden Generation". Despite fierce competition for places Cuadrado was a regular during world cup qualification and after a stellar season with Fiorentina looks primed to set Brazil alight this summer and perhaps the premier league next summer.

Cuadrado is predominantly a winger comfortable on either flank, however is just as capable as a full back a role he regular fulfils on the domestic and international stage. Cuadrado is going to Brazil in red hot form having scored 11 goals and creating a further five in Serie A alone, a statistic most wide men would envy.

Cuadrado makes up for his slight frame with wonderful balance, rapid acceleration, and a searing top speed. Standing at around 5'10 he's not quite at the physical level of a Ronaldo or Bale but there are distinct similarities in there dribbling abilities and knack to beat their opposing number with a flamboyant trick or turn of pace. The young Colombian still has a long way to go before he can even compare himself to the previously mentioned but has undoubted potential.

Cuadrado is in a very rich vein of form at the moment terrorising Serie A defences at will. Despite being relatively inexperienced at a top level on the back of only two seasons as a first team regular , his reputation is growing fast and is rumoured to be on the radar of Premier League giants Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United.

In terms of how suited his talents are to the premier league we could be looking at a potential instant success. Bar perhaps improving his strength , the Fiorentina star is blessed with pace , great balance and a hunger to fight for the ball, traits which are perfectly tailored to the Premier League.

The sky is the limit for the young Colombian. At 25 he has almost everything in his game and showcasing it in the premier league will only further enhance his reputation as one of the top wingers in world football. Blessed with raw potential but perhaps needing that little bit of polish we could be potentially looking at a similar case to Gareth Bale, a player who started his career at full back but was just so good going forward it had to be exploited.

Regardless of what team he potentially signs for, the man nicknamed "vespa" would be a hit in the "world's best league". A flying winger capable of that little piece of magic that can get you out of your seat, this potential star would be a welcome addition to the classy imports the premier league already has on offer.

Potential Destinations: Arsenal , Liverpool , Everton, Tottenham and Manchester United
