Bebe targeted for switch to Braga

Manchester United flop Bebe could be set to exit Old Trafford this summer, with reports suggesting that Braga want to sign the winger.

Bebe initially joined the Red Devils from Vitória de Guimarães during the summer of 2010 but totally failed to impose himself in the Premier League and The Daily Mail now claim that Braga want him following his surprisingly productive loan spell back in the Primeira Liga with Pacos de Ferreira.

The 23-year-old scored a number of impressive goals during a season-long stint at the Capital do Móvel, with perhaps his most crucial coming during their relegation-playoff win over Desportivo Aves.

While it is not speculated how much Braga would be willing to pay for Bebe, it seems incredibly unlikely that Manchester United would be too disappointed at not receiving a profit on the £7.3 million they spent to bring him to the North West.

It is certainly true that the former Portugal U21 international has worked hard to re-build his career back in his homeland, but it is doubtful that will be enough to convince new Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal that he is good enough to command a place in the first team for the 2014/15 campaign.

Experienced Dutchman Van Gaal - who was officially unveiled as Manchester United's new manager last week and will take the reins as David Moyes' permanent successor after the World Cup - is sure to undertake a fair and thorough evaluation of the club's squad before making decisions on personnel, but Bebe's reputation at the club has sunk to such an extent that is difficult to see a scenario where he has any sort of real future at Old Trafford.
