New York Giants wideout Odell Beckham has been the victim of a fake persona this last week at has finally been confirmed, according to reports.

Last week a so called 'woman' called Erica Mendez came forward and claimed to be the secret fiancee of the Giants rookie, and she went about spreading stories his relationships with strippers and the claims she had his love child.

Beckham Jr was selected in the first round by the Giants after a stellar college career. This fabricated story threatened his reputation as it was immediately investigated by the NFL, with the receiver claiming "the entire story is fabricated."

And thankfully for the player and his team, the story is indeed untrue, with the Big League reporting Tuesday, "Erica Mendez is a fake online persona, the Big League can confirm."

It seems the social media terrain is getting quite treacherous for NFL players these days. First there was the Johnny Manziel crazy penis court filing last week, and now this. Well, it's safe to say that the NFL can go a little crazy off the field.

For now it seems Beckham will be able to get on with his rookie season preparations in piece, but only once the dust has settled on this crazy and insane bit of news.
