Former WWE star, Romeo Roselli will star in the upcoming horror movie 'Jersey Shore Massacre' according to wrestlinginc.com.

Roselli performed in WWE between 2004 and 2006, challenging for the Tag Team belt with partner Antonio Thomas as 'The Heart Throbs". However, Roselli never held a belt in the company he did claim the NWE World Heavyweight championship at one time.

The movie is set on the Jersey Shore made famous by 'Pauly D', Michael 'The Situation' Sorrentino and others. It is scheduled for release in August of this year and stars Danielle Dallacco and Angelica Boccella in the other lead roles.

Roselli has appeared in other movies in recent years mainly in support or extra roles although some of these were 'straight to TV' exploits.

The wrestler who is credited in this movie as Giovanni Roselli is by no means the first wrestler to enter the acting scene. Dwayne Johnson, known as The Rock in wrestling circles as made a good second career for himself in blockbusters such as 'The Scorpion King' and 'Fast and Furious 6'. In addition, Kurt Angle landed a role in 'Sharknado 2' opposite Tara Reid recently.

It's unclear as to how much of a critical success 'Jersey Shore Massacre' will be, but it's always good to see one of WWE's own translate their skills to the big screen.
