Cesc Fabregas was spotted in a London restaurant earlier this week as reports continue to link him with a move to the Premier League, reports the Daily Mail.

The picture shown on the Daily Mail claims to show Fabregas, 27, with his girlfriend Daniella Semaan emerging from the  Chiltern Firehouse restaurant in London as he rested up before reporting for Spain's World Cup squad.

The sight of the Barcelona man in London will only strengthen rumours over a reported move to Arsenal, who have been linked with a £30m bid in recent weeks.

Regardless of where Fabregas is spotted, it doesn't look like a prospective move to Manchester United is on the cards. New boss Louis van Gaal has reportedly told Old Trafford officials not to pursue the midfielder this summer.

In fact Fabregas' appearance at the up-market, celebrity hangout came remarkably soon after reports of Manchester United's dropped interest emerged.

One reason Van Gaal may have dropped his interest is the widely held belief that Fabregas would prefer to move to Arsenal even if they did enter negotiations with the player.

The playmaker has, in the past, confirmed his desire to return to the Emirates Stadium in one capacity or another in the future and, after Barcelona put him up for sale, it seemed this summer looked like a better time than ever to make a return.

Unfortunately for Arsenal fans, Barcelona have also told rivals Chelsea and Manchester City that he is available, meaning competition for the player could be fierce.

For the moment, however, it looks like his latest trip to British shores was just to catch up with friends and family before the World Cup begins on June 12th.
