With Liverpool involved in the Champions League once again this coming season, most fans would expect them to prioritise their competitions.
However, not many people would be surprised to see the Reds put the Premier League atop that list. The Premier League has been illusive to the boys in Red in past seasons, with captain Steven Gerrard yet to win the title after years of attempts.
Last season took Liverpool to new heights, with a second place finish both crushing the hearts of fans on Merseyside, and restoring hope to Anfield. Brendan Rodgers may need his boys to push harder than ever before this season to see a similar outcome.
The biggest problem that Liverpool has had in the past has been financial difficulties, a problem that may be resolved by the boost they will receive financially from UEFA competitions.
But Liverpool would be foolish to spend all of their money and energy on a UEFA run, especially with the Premier League drought that has plagued Anfield in past years. Brendan Rodgers faces a tough season, one that stands both as hopeful, and intimidating.
The best asset that Liverpool fans can bring to Anfield this season is their hope and support for whoever graces the pitch.
