Having appointed a new head coach, Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in singing Adam Lallana from Southampton. The England International is already being pursued by Liverpool, but seeing as The Saints have put a £25 million price tag on the midfielder, Liverpool are looking rather reluctant to continue with their efforts to sign Lallana.
New Tottenham coach Mauricio Pochettino who has signed a deal to keep him at White Hart Lane for five years, will be looking to bolster his side’s squad depth and capabilities.
Liverpool were originally the first team in the race for Adam Lallana and were prepared to offer approximately £15 million for the Southampton midfielder, but when the Saints pushed up the price to around £25 million, Liverpool became increasingly unsure about the value of the England international.
Lallana will travel with the England squad to Brazil 2014 to participate in his first World Cup. The 27-year-old has only made a previous three appearances for England, so this World Cup will be a great learning experience.
If he joins the Reds, Lallana will be playing alongside his fellow countrymen such as Gerrard, Sterling, Sturridge, Johnson and Henderson. If his future lies at White Hart Lane, Lallana will be playing alongside the likes of Christian Eriksen, Hugo Lloris and Roberto Soldado.
Lallana is one of the most wanted players on the market and it seems destined that after the World Cup he will complete a move away from the south coast.
