'Ruthless' Robbie Lawler and Matt 'The Immortal' Brown are set to clash at UFC On Fox 12, which will be a number one contenders bout for the UFC Welterweight Title.
The bout was revealed via UFC President Dana White's twitter, and it will take place on July 26 in San Jose, California.
"We got Robbie Lawler who just came off a controversial loss to the champion, and number one (Lawler) is facing number five (Brown).
"Robbie just beat the number five and number six guys in his wins, right? And he was in a controversial fight with the champ, so he deserves this fight. If Matt Brown beats Robbie Lawler then he just beat the number one contender and he gets the fight."
This fight was more or less expected. Both fighters have been extremely impressive of late. Lawleer is currently 4-1 within the UFC, including finished over Josh Koscheck and Jake Ellenberger in his last fight. His drop from Middleweight to 170lbs has saw 'Ruthless' have a miraculous change in form, and his only loss was a controversial defeat to champion Johnny Hendricks for the title.
As for Brown, he has been in top notch form too. 'The Immortal' is on a seven fight win streak, finishing all but one by T/KO. He most recently defeated Brazilian Erick Silva by TKO and many have yelled out he deserves a shot at Hendricks.
The fight will be fireworks. Both love to stand and trade with their opponents and have a sublime finishing rate.
