I'm sure many WWE fans are way past the point now where they believe anything that the company feed to them anymore.

However, today the Internet Wrestling Community was rocked by the news that CM Punk had finally admitted that he had retired, well in an interview when he was asked what it was like to be retired at 35 he said "it felt good." If that counts?

But it's not just that, this morning WWE.com advertised that AJ Lee and CM Punk would be in attendance for the Smackdown tapings in Corpus Christi, Texas on July 24th.

Now if CM Punk has retired then why is he being advertised for a Smackdown taping? And why would they be foolish enough to advertise anything regarding CM Punk when he has become such a big media hit?

Or even more stupid is why Punk is advertised for Smackdown which is a pre-taped show and not Raw which is live and would give a better reaction?

WWE.com fixed the obvious error not long after but it still remains to be explained as to how someone could make an error that big?

A name spelt wrong yes but why advertise a retired superstar to appear in WWE around the same time that his contract expires and his fiancée, (who will by then be his wife) is due to make her return.

CM Punk is still a sore subject for many wrestling fans given the way that "the best in the world" was adored by the fans and then he just left, fans have been looking for answers since January and to no avail. This latest error will add fuel to the conspiracy fire as many fans already suspect that Sunday's Payback pay-per-view live in Chicago could see the superstar shockingly return.

Even if he doesn't return on Sunday expect the WWE Universe to take over the show with CM Punk chants at every interval as they await Daniel Bryan's decision of whether he will hand over the WWE World Heavyweight Championship or not.

The 'Yes Movement' had given WWE fans something to believe in whilst CM Punk was on what Vince McMahon called a "Sabbatical" but now with Daniel Bryan set to be out recovering from injury for a while and CM Punk 'officially' retired, fans are not going to be happy and they will vent their frustration at the next given opportunity, Sunday's Payback.
