The agent of Atletico Madrid’s Arda Turan has revealed that he has received an offer for the midfielder from and English club, with Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal all reported to be interested.
Ahmet Bulut has admitted that his client has received an offer from a Premier league side, and the Turkish midfielder may consider a move to England according to The Mirror.
"Arda is currently playing at a big club with big ambitions. He wants to be part of that success, but we must wait and see what happens," he said.
"An offer from an English club has arrived.”
Machester United were claimed to be frontrunners for his signature, and are reported to have lodged a bid of around £33 million.
Turan has as €40 million release clause, which if met would have to be accepted by Atletico. He has only recently signed a new contract until 2017, where his release clause was upped from €24 million.
"As in every transfer, two parties, the player and the club, they must make a decision," Bulut added.
Atletico would no doubt be reluctant to let him leave, especially with them seemingly set to lose Diego Costa to the draw of the Premier League.
Turan is one of the club’s top players, and has won four trophies during his three seasons in Madrid, making 139 appearances.
He played a key part in Atletico’s success this season. He became the first scoring seven goals and providing six assists.
An injury in the La Liga title decider with Barcelona robbed him of a starting berth in the Champions League final.
The 27-year-old has flourished during his time at Atletico, becoming a more complete player than the one that arrived from Galatasary for €12 million.
Manchester United are not the only club said to be interested in the Turkish international. Turan has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs, including Liverpool and Arsenal and is said to be a Liverpool fan.
But Arsenal were also thrown into the mix, as earlier this year, Bulut revealed: “He is interested in working under Arsene Wenger and Arda would like to play in England.”
The Turk would prove to be a quality addition to any of these sides. He can provide a great deal of versatility, with his ability to occupy both wide positions and play a central role.
Louis Van Gaal is keen to bolster United’s wide options, with the likes of Ashley Young and Nani failing to impress over the past season.
