It’s been a bit of an up and down week but it’s great to be going into tomorrow’s game at Lord’s after such an impressive victory up at Old Trafford.
It wasn’t the greatest performance up in Durham on Sunday, to say the least. However, it was great to bounce back straight away and to get a big win in Manchester was important for us and hopefully we can back that up tomorrow at the home of cricket.
Everyone was disappointed after Durham but it’s a five match series and we all knew that.
We knew we had a chance to bounce back and we worked hard in the nets and we put on a great performance so hopefully we can do that again here for another win.
You could see from Belly’s reaction at the end when he hit the winning runs with a six because it was important to get a win in impressive style.
We are full of confidence but we are not getting carried away, that game means nothing now. We have to try and produce another good performance against a good Sri Lankan side.
After Lord’s we go to Edgbaston for the final ODI and then the first Test starts the week after so I have my fingers crossed for that.
I would love to be involved in the Test squad when it is announced next week but there are so many good players around the country that so many people have a chance.
Hopefully over the next couple of games I can score some runs if given the chance to put my name in the hat but I just want to focus on tomorrow and getting the win which would mean we win the series.
