Arsene Wenger has told Arsenal fans to expect a busy summer in the transfer market as he looks to build his next great team with the Gunners.

The Frenchman committed his future to Arsenal by signing a three-year deal. That deal will give Wenger the time to build a new a team at the Emirates Stadium and he has confirmed the club are looking to spend big.

He also believes that Arsenal's triumph in the FA Cup has given them more pulling power in a competitive market.

Asked if Arsenal will be active in the summer, Wenger told the official website: "Yes. What I can promise is that we work very hard on a market that is very, very congested with many people who have a lot of money.

"But we have a big advantage, players want to join us and if we find the right quality I'm sure we can strengthen the team."

That FA Cup win was Arsenal's first triumph in nine-years and Wenger expects this current crop of Arsenal stars to become another great Gunners team.

However, Wenger is under no illusions and knows that if the team are to have another successful season, they must first perform well in the transfer window. They need to bring in the right players and strengthen the squad.

"It's time for another [great Arsenal team to emerge]. It's the start of a new team and I believe [the FA Cup] victory was crucial in that belief," he said.

"We have shown signs the whole season that we can be a great side and now it's [important] of course to have another successful season.

"We know we have to... have a successful June and July, that's where you strengthen the team.

"It's very important that we are good now in the next two months until the end of August, that we can give to the team some more quality and go into next season with the belief we got from [the FA Cup] win."
