Swansea City have completed the signing of Lukasz Fabianski from Arsenal on a four year deal.
This could signal the end for current Swans No.1, Michel Vorm, who has attracted interest from a number of clubs, with Liverpool being strongly linked.
However, the Reds current goalkeeper Simon Mignolet is sure to want to be first choice at Liverpool meaning that Vorm would not be guaranteed a starting spot.
Brendan Rodgers knows Vorm from his time at Swansea and is obviously a fan of the Dutch international and was full of praise when he first signed him in 2011.
He said: "He is very quick and very agile so he is similar to Victor Valdes at Barcelona, he is not 6ft 4in or 6ft 5in, he is 6ft or 6ft 1in with great speed and agility and he is perfect for our style of football." The Mail reported.
Vorm kept seven clean sheets this season and made and average of 2.04 saves per game. Compare this to Mignolet who kept 10 clean sheets but had a lower saves per game of 1.97.
Mignolet conceded 1.32 goals per game whereas Vorm conceded just 1.23, however Liverpool's defensive record could be to blame for this.
With Champions League football now on the agenda for Liverpool, there are many more games to be played, so two decent keepers are needed.
Either way it appears there is not much to choose between the two keepers that could be set to battle it out for Liverpool's number one jersey.
