Chelsea full-back Ashley Cole has been advised by former England teammate Peter Crouch to join Liverpool.
Cole will end his eight-year association with Chelsea at the end of next month when his current contract with the west London outfit is due to expire - after falling out of favour at Stamford Bridge following Jose Mourinho’s return to the club.
The 33-year-old is expected to have several offers on the table - with Liverpool said to be among the leading contenders to sign Cole on a free transfer.
And former Liverpool striker Crouch, who is currently staying at the same Hollywood hotel as Cole, has reportedly told the former Arsenal man that a move to Anfield would be the right move for the experienced defender.
An onlooker told The Sun: “Crouchie spent half an hour stating his case, saying Cole couldn’t go far wrong by joining Steven Gerrard and Co.
“He also mentioned Champions League football. Cole nodded and admitted that may be a big factor in his decision about who he joins next.”
Cole is also said to be attracting interest from European duo Monaco and Real Madrid as well as MLS side LA Galaxy but is keen on extending his career in the Premier League.
