Manchester City are the reigning Premier League Champions, and now they have ambitions, even of a quadruple! They will be hoping to strengthen weak points, and here's the predicted starting XI for Man City next season.

Goalkeeper: Fraser Forster

To be fair to Joe Hart, he's answered his early season critics and hardly made a mistake since being reinstated in January. However Forster is young-ish, a world class keeper and would come cheap. Nothing wrong with signing him.

Left Back: Eliaquim Mangala

Man City have been strongly, strongly linked with Mangala, and came very close to getting him in January. Mangala is a brilliant Left Back, and will surely answer any problems there.

Centre Back: Vincent Kompany

A brilliant captain, one of the worlds best defenders, and a guaranteed starter. Integral to Man City.

Centre Back: Medhi Benatia

This will be the marquee signing. They are facing competition from Bayern, Barcelona and Chelsea, but Man City have the sheer wealth to outbid them all.

Right Back: Pablo Zabaleta

Quite why Sagna has chosen Man City is a mystery: there's no way he can displace Zabaleta! A classy right back.

Centre Midfield: Fernando

Man City came close to him too, but the deal fell through. With Yaya Toure leaving, it's questionable that Fernando is a suitable replacement, but he seems bound to sign.

Centre Midfield: Fernandinho

In order to fill the Toure-shaped hole, Fernandinho must adapt his nature to a more box-to-box style, less defensive. If he could do this he would be one of the finest midfielders in the league.

Left Midfield: David Silva

No surprises here: David Silva is one of the best creators in the world right now. An integral part of Man City, and one they can't cope without.

Right Midfield: Samir Nasri

What a revival! Nasri recovered from a poor 12/13 to show his class under Pellegrini. Well worth holding on to.

Striker: Alvaro Negredo

Despite a goal drought later in the season, Negredo is clearly a natural goalscorer, and is bound to re-find his early season form.

Striker: Sergio Aguero

They must keep him! Arguably the best player in the league, Aguero is sheer class when at his best. Man City would struggle without him.
