Manchester United are leading the race to sign Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
The Daily Mirror believe the Red Devils are the strong favourites to land the former Arsenal man - despite the fact they cannot offer the Spain international Champions League football next season.
Fabregas has been linked with several Premier League sides during the last 24 hours - with Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham all said to have expressed an interest in the 27-year-old.
The midfielder has reportedly been informed that he is not part of new Barcelona manager Luis Enrique's plans so is free to discuss terms with any potential suitor.
Barcelona have placed a £30million valuation on Fabregas - which the likes of Manchester United will be willing to pay for a player of his calibre.
Manchester United launched two bids to sign Fabregas last summer after being encouraged to make an attempt to sign the Spaniard.
Both offers were rejected by the Catalan giants but it now appears the Red Devils could get their man this summer.
Fabregas was originally a target for former Manchester United manager David Moyes but it seems Louis van Gaal is just as keen to bring the deep-lying playmaker back to the Premier League in order to plug the troublesome gap in his new side's engine room.
