Tottenham pull out of Adam Lallana transfer race

It is very unlikely that Adam Lallana will be moving to Tottenham this summer according to Sky Sports.

Lallana was linked with Spurs earlier this week when the club unveiled ex-Southampton boss Maurico Pochettino as their new manager.

However, it is thought that Tottenham are not interested in the England international after spending over £100million on talent last summer - talent that hasn't yet proved to be good value for money.

The 25-year-old has been the subject of negotiations between the Saints and Liverpool, with the Reds thought to have made a fresh bid of £25 million over the past few days, and rumours have circulated that Lallana could have a medical for them next week while in Miami with the England squad in hope of completing a move to Anfield.

Despite the rumours, Liverpool are definitely determined to agree a deal for Lallana before he flies out to Miami with the England squad. If they manage it, they will tie up their second Southampton player in the space of a week, with striker Rickie Lambert completing his move earlier today.

Lallana, meanwhile, impressed for 73 minutes in England’s friendly 3-0 win over Peru on Friday night. He has made over 200 appearances for Southampton, scoring 48 goals.
