The passer rating statistic is a slightly flawed stat when comparing players from different eras, but it's one of the best ways to compare talent amongst active in the NFL right now.
Players from older generations usually have passer rating stats that don't match most modern day quarterbacks. This is because the league was more run heavy, whereas these days rules dictate that the game is more pass friendly. Therefore, success for QB's comes much easier.
Still, amongst active signal callers, it's a great barometer of how they are progressing through their career.
So we though we'd take a look at the top five active QB's according to this stat. There are some obvious names, but a couple that may surprise you.
