Colombia and Monaco Forward Radamel Falcao has been left out of the country's squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup which kicks off in just nine days.
National coach Jose Pekerman confirmed his 23-man squad at a press conference held in Buenos Aires, Argentina on Monday night with one of the worlds biggest names excluded.
Falcao suffered a serious knee injury whilst playing for Monaco in January and has been an injury concern for the national team ever since.
He became a big money signing for the French giants last summer after signing from Atletico Madrid in a deal that exceeded 150 million euros.
Pekerman had previously stated that he would: "wait for Falcao until the last day, the last minute."
The missing hit-man is expected to travel to Brazil to support his team-mates but will be unable to line up alongside them, same as Cruz Azul star Luis Perea and Luis Muriel of Udinese who also missed out.
Colombia will face Greece, Ivory Coast and Japan in group C at this summers football fiesta in Brazil.
