England's test squad for the upcoming two-match test series is due to be announced this Thursday as the selectors look to give young guns, a chance to shine.

For the first time in a few years time has the excitement, for the selection of an England squad, has been so high. With the hearts beating at a rate of knots in anticipation of who will be selected and whom not, the selectors too are befuddled a bit as to whom to go with especially in the playing XI.

Opprobrium of course is inevitable as people have formed loads of opinions on what actually be a balanced squad. There have been some supremely good performances from some of the brightest future prospects around the county circuit and hence everyone deserves to be selected in the squad though not everyone would have the privilege to be in that final XI which though disappointing, but would be right from the team's point of view in order to keep the balance in check.

The most probable debuts in that 1st test to be very honest are Sam Robson and Chris Jordan who would fit alongside a line-up that should include Cook, Root, Bell, Prior (depends on fitness), Jimmy, Broad, Ballance, Stokes. Though, an 11th player still seems to be in an aphotic place as no one knows if a spinner in Panesar/Borthwick would be taken or Bresnan would come in or if Ali would receive a cap (which would disturb the balance).

James Vince, Daryl Mitchell on the other hand might have to endure a bit of pain as Robson and Ballance seem to have snaffled their spots. Compton, Carberry, Plunkett, Patel, Foster, Bairstow unfortunately might just miss out on selection yet again though if even a single one of them is selected, it would at first be shocking but eventually an amusing news. All in all, we are set for an exciting Thursday.

Probable 16: Cook (C), Robson, Ballance, Root, Bell, Vince, Mitchell, Stokes, Ali, Prior (WK), Bresnan, Broad, Jordan, Anderson, Panesar, Finn.
