Will Genia and former skipper James Horwill have both been left out of the Wallaby starting XV by coach Ewen McKenzie for the first Test against France this weekend in Brisbane.
Former Reds coach McKenzie has relegated Horwill to the bench for Saturday while Genia will be in the stands.
The pair who helped McKenzie lead the Reds to the Super Rugby title in 2011 haven't been in their best form in recent times opening up opportunities for some of the form Super Rugby players.
ACT Brumbies scrum-half Nic White will start only his third Test in place of the experienced Will Genia while his halfback partner Bernard Foley, standing in for the injured Quade Cooper, will be featuring in only his fourth Test, an inexperienced combination that the French will look to exploit.
David Campese, a former Wallaby world cup winner and team mate of current coach Ewen McKenzie, spoke exclusively to GiveMeSport ahead of the first Test and he believes the absence of Cooper is a huge blow to their attacking potential.
Campese agreed it was most likely Foley that would start at 10 however went on to say," It would be fantastic to have Cooper at 10 and Beale at 12. It gives the Wallabies more options with Beale at 12, as he understands the running game and understands the way Cooper plays."
Campo went on to remind GiveMeSport that Australian rugby is struggling for a top class 10-12 combination in the absence of Cooper and Beale," Ella and Lynagh, Lynagh and Horan, Larkham and Horan, " remembering great combinations from past Wallaby teams, " with Foley at 10 the problem does become 12."
Kurtley Beale starts from the bench while the brilliant Israel Folau continues at fullback for the Wallabies after his try scoring exploits with the Waratahs that have seen the rugby league convert cross the whitewash on 11 occasions this season in Super Rugby.
