TNA’s Knockout’s division is still in shock, after the actions of its newest participant – Brittany, on the latest edition of Impact Wrestling.
Brittany, 26, has seemingly harboured a great deal of respect, admiration and interest in former Knockout’s Champion Madison Rayne since day one of her TNA career, which began in March of this year.
Now however, it seems that Brittany revere’s the Queen Bee as more than just her idol. Last Thursday, she revealed a bizarre obsession, making the kind of creepy advancements that are reminiscent of Samuel Shaw’s recent undying lust for Christy Hemme.
Brittany offered up an angry in-ring outburst at Rayne, following defeat in a tag team match against the Beautiful People. Brittany, who was partnered in the match by Gail Kim, called out Rayne to ask her why she had refused to partner her, forcing her to request Kim.
This latest twist in an intriguing Knockout’s division leaves Rayne in a perilous position. After cashing in the rematch clause from the contract of her Knockout’s Title match defeat to Angelina Love at Sacrifice, Rayne cannot afford any distractions. Rayne and Love will meet in the ring this coming Thursday, while many eyes will be on Brittany to see what she plans to do next.
Rayne and Brittany clashed early on in last Thursday’s broadcast, with the latter approaching her hero backstage, asking for a tag team partner in a match with the Beautiful People (Love and Velvet Sky). Madison sat Brittany down and told her that she saw what they did to her last week (during Brittany’s singles match with Love).
Rayne said that she tried to warn Brittany before that she isn’t ready for them: it took her years to figure out how to deal with people like Love. She adds that if she wrestles them again, they’ll find a way to destroy her. Madison told Brittany to promise her that she won’t have the match, a promise she near-immediately agreed to.
However, Brittany ignored the advice and instead approached Gail Kim – who accepted the same offer. In the match itself, Brittany also acted strangely, refusing to tag in her more experienced partner on several occasions – as if determined to prove herself. When Kim did eventually get into the match, Brittany quickly tagged herself back in.
Following the tag, Brittany attempted the Handspring Moonsault, but Velvet moved out of the way, allowing Angelina to nail Brittany with the Botox Injection and Velvet to cover her for the pin.
After an advertisement break, a now deranged looking Brittany – still in the ring – called out Rayne, asking why she rejected her earlier in the night. Rayne replies by telling Brittany that things are getting a little weird for her, before trying to explain how her issues with the Beautiful People have been going on for years.
Rayne adds that there are some issues that run really deeply, that only the three of them know of, so whatever needs to be handled will be handled between the three of them and no one else. She won’t be held responsible for getting Brittany involved in that.
Brittany responds by telling Madison that she won’t be responsible, because she will take full responsibility for whatever happens. She just wants to be with Madison.
Madison asked her what she just said and Brittany repeats it, moving closer to Madison’s face, prompting Rayne to shove Brittany away. Madison told her that she has gone too far and she needs to keep her distance. Brittany screamed at Madison and said that she has done nothing but great things for her.She wants to know why Madison doesn’t like her and asked her what she has to do for Madison to accept her.
Madison ripped the microphone away from her as Angelina and Velvet walked out. Angelina mockingly said that Madison had just broken a young girl’s heart, and Velvet added that everyone calls them the mean girls, despite what Madison just did. Velvet added that Brittany just witnessed the real sting of the “Queen Bee”, and that nobody but them knows the real Madison Rayne.
Rayne tried in vain to gain a measure of control back over the situation by issuing the title challenge, but Love and Sky simply smiled gleefully as they walked away.
