England go to the World Cup with low expectations, with many pundits not tipping them to win the tournament. However, England have a player that can take them to another level and that is Ross Barkley.

Many would never have heard of Barkley before last season, but the Everton midfielder has since been given a new lease of life and a leading role by manager Roberto Martinez.

Barkley is only 20-years-old, but last season he made 38 appearances for Everton and scored seven goals in total during the season.

Despite his tender age, Barkley has shown maturity beyond his years and has been compared to previous England great Paul Gascoigne.

Inevitably, there have even been comparisons to former Evertonian and current Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney. Rooney, like Barkley has been operating as a number 10 in recent seasons for club and country.

Despite possessing only four England caps, Barkley has shown that he can perform in big games. He enjoyed stellar performances against the likes of Manchester City last season.

Despite being an unknown commodity, Barkley deserves a chance to stake his claim for England now and in the future.

Barkley has talent that no other England player has. He is strong, quick, has great vision and scores spectacular goals. He also has incredible dribbling and close control and has the ability to open up an opposing team on his own.

Barkley is England's secret weapon in this upcoming World Cup.The Everton midfielder can surprise the likes of Italy with his pace, technical ability and fearlessness.
