Cam Newton and Richard Sherman have battled each other on the field before, but now the Carolina Panthers quarterback is challenging his Seattle Seahawks counterpart to a match-up of different proportions; where a quick thumb is more valuable than a pick 6. The two NFL stars are the finalists for the Madden 15 cover and Newton wants to settle the matter where it should be, on the virtual turf.

In a video posted earlier today, which you can see above, the 25-year old comes out parodying the interview that burst Sherman onto the national conscience where he went mad after the NFC Championship win. “I’m the best gamer in the league, and when you try me with sorry gamers like that, that’s the result you get,” Newton says, getting in an early dig.

Newton invites us into boog1eville, a room that contains just posters of himself along with a pretty impressive gaming setup - Madden 25 loaded up on both an Xbox One and Playstation 4.

Sherman can accept the challenge or walk away from the video game contest, but he shouldn't call the 1-888-CAM-PAIN number that Newton gave to the cornerback as a special direct line straight to accept the match. It's actually a scam for cruise trips. Well played Cam.
