Luckily for two stranded boaters, Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway was in the area and was able to save the two on a windy afternoon on Lake Minnetonka.
KARE-TV were currently detailing the problems with high winds and dangerous water levels in the Minneapolis area when their camera man panned to Greenway helping save Crystal and Edward Alexis who had been caught out on the lake.
The pair were taking out their new boat on its first voyage when their steering failed and they found themselves stuck out on the lake against a strong current.
The 31-year-old linebacker jumped into the water to help push the boat to safety and he also assisted a water patrolman with tying it up for towing.
Greenway told KARE-TV afterwards: "The waves are so big and the wind is so strong today that it pushed him right into the rocks, so we had to get him off the rocks, his prop cleared out of the rope, and get him turned in the right direction,"
Edward who had been aided by Greenway was thankful for his help but also said that he was a Chicago Bears fan and had rooted against the linebacker on the field.
When Greenway found out about Edward's allegiance, he said:"Good thing he told me that afterward."
