Bacary Sagna has already confirmed he will leave Arsenal, and it is looking more and more like his next destination will be their Premier League rivals Manchester City.

The player's agent, Laurent Gutsmuth, confirmed that he expected his client to sign for Manchester City in the near future but did say there was a chance he could move elsewhere.

Speaking to Area Napoli, the agent admitted that he did hold talks with Serie A outfit Napoli but that talks with Manchester City are far in advance of Rafa Benitez's men.

He said: "It 's true that we have been contacted [by Napoli], but he should sign with Manchester City."

The agent went on to state that there was still a small chance of him signing for Napoli but it appears the Citizens have stolen a march on a number of pursuers in the race for the 31-year-old.

Sagna confirmed his departure from the Emirates Stadium after failing to agree terms on a contract extension. Arsenal were willing to offer Sagna a two-year deal but the player held out for three.

Arsenal eventually succumbbed to Sagna's demands but by then it was too late and the player had started talks with rival outfits.

Sagna brings an end to an eight-year stay in north London with the Gunners this summer.
