Despite having to pull out of this years Wimbledon due to scheduled minor wrist surgery British number one Laura Robson has announced she is going to be at SW19, as part of the BBC commentary team.
She will be joining the likes of Tim Henman, John McEnroe and Maria Navratilova, who all have regular spots on the BBC's team. Reigning Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli has also been announced alongside the young British starlet, continuing her foray into the punditry world following the French Open.
The news she will not be returning to play at Wimbledon this year has left many fans stunned, especially following her success of reaching the last 16 the previous year.
However, this is undoubtedly an exciting opportunity for Robson to try her hand at something new, which still allows her to be a part of a tournament she has so disappointingly missed out on.
This news came after the BBC announced it would air 150 more hours of TV coverage this year, which according to The Guardian makes it the most amount of coverage the broadcaster has ever provided from SW19.
Coverage of the highly anticipated grand slam starts on the 23rd June and continues right through until the 6th July across all BBC outlets.
