Midfield ace Seydou Keita could turn his back on La Liga outfit Valencia and join Liverpool this summer.

As reported by talkSPORT, the 34-year-old midfielder - who rejected a short term deal with Brendan Rodgers' side in January - could now make the move to Merseyside in the near future.

The report has indicated that the La Liga star is tempted to join Liverpool because of the lure of Champions League football. And suggestions have been made that the midfield ace has received approaches from both Liverpool and Italian outfit Roma in recent time.

Brendan Rodgers appears desperate to add to his squad ahead of the 2014/15 campaign, as the Reds look to further improve next season. Keita could add competition with the likes of Steven Gerrard, Jordan Henderson and Co. in the middle of the park next term.

It remains to be seen as to whether the Liverpool boss steps up his interest in the ex-Barcelona man in the near future, but there seems a chance he could be heading to Anfield.

Despite his age, Keita could still play a key role for the Reds next season, and achieve success in England's elite division.
