Southampton captain Adam Lallana is hoping to follow Rickie Lambert to Liverpool this summer, according to a junior Reds fan who addressed recent transfer speculation with the player when he met the England team in Miami on Tuesday.
The starry eyed supporter shared his excitement on Twitter after posing for photos with captain Steven Gerrard and Jordan Henderson, whilst also celebrating the capture of signatures from fellow Anfield stars Raheem Sterling and Jon Flanagan.
After acquiring autographs from numerous members of Roy Hodgson's Three Lions squad, the youngster - who goes by the name Guillermo Quintero - set about determining Lallana's summer aspirations, having been heavily linked with a switch to Liverpool in the forthcoming transfer window.
Brendan Rodgers has made no secret of his admiration for the creative midfielder, with ESPN reporting that Liverpool have already tabled a £25 million bid for Lallana.
However, Southampton are said to be holding out for £30 million, and are eager not to enter into any negotiations until after the appointment of a new manager at St Mary's following Mauricio Pochettino's departure for Tottenham Hotspur last month.
Lambert's Liverpool switch was given the green light by the Saints board after the 32-year-old pleaded with the club to activate the transfer, and they felt they could not stand in the striker's way of completing a dream move back to Anfield.
Lallana's situation is slightly different in the sense that he is tied down to a longer contract, and with additional interest in his signature, Southampton do not feel under pressure to cave in to Liverpool's demands.
That said, the 26-year-old has made clear his ambition to test himself in the Champions League, and if the recent tweets from the young Liverpool fan are to be believed, he has his sights firmly set on a move to Anfield after the World Cup this summer.
