Juventus want two Real Madrid players in Arturo Vidal deal

Juventus may entertain a hypothetical approach for Arturo Vidal were Real Madrid to include Angel di Maria and Marcelo in any proposed deal for the coveted Chilean midfielder, who is also on the respective radars of Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Vidal has established himself among the elite midfield players in Europe thanks to his performances for Juventus, and the Chilean scored 18 times in all competitions in the recently concluded club campaign as he won a third successive Serie A title with Juventus.

Naturally, his talents have attracted attention elsewhere, with Real Madrid seemingly having the strongest interest in acquiring Vidal. AS report that informal talks between members of the Madrid and Juventus hierarchy took place on Monday this week, and the Italian club made clear that they would not accept less than €50 million for the player.

But perhaps more attractive to Juventus would be the opportunity to take some of Real Madrid’s stars as part of the deal, and they are reported to have specifically outlined Di Maria and Marcelo as objects of their desire. Include this in their offer, and Real Madrid would have to pay a lower fee for Vidal.

Where this leaves Vidal’s other suitors remains to be seen. Manchester United have been linked with the 27-year-old for some time, with it claimed in January that then manager David Moyes was hoping to bring the player to Old Trafford. Will Louis van Gaal be prepared to follow the lead of his Manchester United predecessor?

Barcelona, meanwhile, also appear to keep a close eye on Vidal, and it will be down to new manager Luis Enrique to decide if he considers a bidding war with Real Madrid as something worth pursuing.
