Boss Jorge Luis Pinto sets up a rigid team in a 3-6-1 formation. Overloading the midfield will frustrate opponents. Their players will rarely roam from their position so when they lose possession, they are quick to regain their shape and become difficult to break down.
Playing with their backs against the wall proves tough for the Costa Ricans, often crumbling in the latter stages of games. Once they concede a goal, they are prone to collapse.
Keylor Navas. A consistent performer for Levante, the stopper will be vital to a Costa Rica side that will expect to be dominated.
It is difficult to imagine them progressing from such a tough group.
