Barcelona have opened talks with Borussia Dortmund right-back Lukasz Piszczek, according to talkSPORT.
The report has suggested that the Catalans have started talks with the player's agent, ahead of a potential summer switch to the Nou Camp. There is still a stumbling block over the price, however, as Dortmund want as much as £15 million for the Polish international.
Barcelona are in desperate need of defensive reinforcements, after the retirement of Carles Puyol. The Catalans could also see Alves depart the club this summer, with reports linking him with a summer switch.
Piszczek potential move to La Liga will come as a blow to Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, who has been linked with a move for the 29-year-old in recent time. Arsenal are expected to bring a right-back to the club in the near future, after Bacary Sagna revealed that he will be leaving The Emirates.
Thee French full-back is expected to join Arsenal's Premier League rivals Manchester City on a free transfer in the near future. However, it now looks unlikely that Piszczek will replace Sagna at the Gunners for the 2014/15 campaign.
