Kevin Durant has been confirmed as the face of the NBA 2K15 and features in a video which uses footage of his MVP acceptance speech to publicise the game.

The Oklahoma City Thunder hero will replace 2014's star LeBron James on the cover of the game for the 2015 version, set to be released on October 7 on multiple platforms.

The accompanying video is titled "Most Valuable Players" and shows snippets of Durant's emotional MVP speech from a few weeks back, and it is combined with players of the game repeating some of the memorable lines.

Producers 2K Games will be hoping to capture the imagination with the game and have utilised Durant's speech as a way of connecting to it's fan base through one of the NBA's most down-to-earth stars.

This years version promises to bring "unprecedented life like graphics" and is the latest instalment from the franchise, and after receiving 70 game of the year nominations for the 2014 version, 2k will be hoping to go one better this time around.

Fans who pre-order also receive a bonus package that includes 5,000 in Virtual Currency, aKevin Durant Throwback MyTeam card, two MyTeam card packs, and MyPlayer leg sleeves inspired by the MVP himself.

Durant himself confirmed his honour at being selected as the chosen one for this years edition with a message posted on 2K's Instagram page last month.
