Ramires not allowed to join Real Madrid

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho will block any Real Madrid move for midfielder Ramires this summer.

According to the Daily Star, the Chelsea manager is adamant Ramires will remain a Chelsea player heading into next season despite speculation linking him with a move to the reigning Champions League winners.

Former-Stamford Bridge boss Carlo Ancelotti reportedly wants to bring Ramires to the Bernabeu as he looks to rebuild the Madrid midfield. Liverpool's Luis Suarez is Real Madrid's top summer priority, but they also hoped to slide through a deal for Ramires too.

But Mourinho will move to stop any Real Madrid bid for the talented Brazilian international, who is currently with his country's national team squad as they prepare for the World Cup.

Having sanctioned the sale of David Luiz to Paris Saint Germain for close to £50m, Chelsea are under no pressure to sell to meet FFP regulations.

Frank Lampard has confirmed that he will not return to Stamford Bridge next season, so Mourinho feels he cannot lose Ramires as well.

The Brazilian signed from Benfica for a fee close to £17m, although Real Madrid were reportedly willing to offer more than that. And he's under contract at Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2017, so it looks like he'll be staying for now.
