5. Joleon Lescott
The central defender was released by Manchester City on May 24 and hasn't found a new club for himself yet. He has been linked with West Ham United.
Lescott wasn't in Manuel Pellegrini's plans at the Etihad, playing only 10 out of 38 Premier League matches last season. He was immediately replaced with Argentinian veteran Martin Demichelis, who previously played for Malaga under Pellegrini.
4. Gareth Barry
Another ex-City player who had to leave the club due to his contract expiring. There was no place for him in the team under Pellegrini next to Fernandinho and Yaya Toure. He was loaned out to Everton for the 2013-14 season and put in some good performances which unfortunately weren't enough to convince the Citizens to keep him.
Where should he move? Returning to Aston Villa - the club with whom he spent 12 years earlier in his career - could turn out to be a good comeback. Barry can offer a great amount of experience after 17 seasons in professional football.
3. Ashley Cole
Despite of being one of the most experienced players at the club, the arrival of Jose Mourinho back at Chelsea was anything but positive for the ex-Arsenal defender who didn't got much playing time under the Portuguese.
Cole's eight years at Stamford Bridge weren't enough for Mourinho, who decided to replace him with a right-back on the left side in Cesar Azpilicueta. The club will now presumably go for a new left-back in the upcoming transfer window and the first name on their list is believed to be Southampton wonderkid Luke Shaw.
The 33-year-old's contract at Chelsea expires at the end of this month and he is seeking decent first-team football elsewhere. It seems likely that he will join another Premier League side.
2. Bacary Sagna
Arsenal won their first trophy since 2005 last season and the French stalwart still wasn't willing to sign a new contract with the Gunners. Maybe seven years in London were enough for Sagna, who will be joining only his third club when he leaves the Emirates this summer.
As well as for Cole, the City could prepare a contract for this experienced defender and, therefore, give him a chance in the team in front of Micah Richards and Pablo Zabaleta. Could Sagna ensure a first-team place there?
Serge Aurier is reportedly being targeted to join Arsenal from Toulouse to replace Sagna.
1. Samuel Eto'o
Eto'o played at Internazionale under Mourinho and moved to London at the beginning of the season.
His stay at Stamford Bridge lasted for just one campaign, however, with the Chelsea coaching staff looking for some other strikers such as Diego Costa and perhaps even Mario Mandzukic.
If he Eto'o does well at the World Cup, many big clubs will increase their interest in signing him. He has been linked with Arsenal, Besiktas and Internazionale until now. Would he fancy a return to his old club or look for new adventures elsewhere?
