One of Manchester United’s top targets for this summer has been described by the coach of the Italy national team as the best midfielder in the world, ahead of the Brazil World Cup.

Reports over the weekend claimed that Paul Pogba could yet make a shock return to Old Trafford, despite leaving in acrimonious circumstances for Juventus, and Italian manager Cesare Prandelli has hailed the youngster as being amongst the sport’s elite.

And whilst a deal for the France international seems to change status in terms of it’s feasibility factor on almost a daily basis, a transfer for Southampton full-back Luke Shaw now seems a validated certainty. It’s said that the youngster told his current club last month that he wants to move to Old Trafford despite interest from Chelsea, and a transfer should be agreed either before or just after the World Cup.

If that should for some reason fail however it’s thought that Louis van Gaal will make an effort to sign Barcelona star Jordi Alba, and has already enquired about the availability of the left-back to his Catalan owners.
