Whether as passionate fans or players, we have all experienced frustrations with referees over the years.
But while most of us are able to control and manage our anger towards the man in the middle, one footballer in the Romanian lower leagues recently resorted to shocking brutality to express his obvious displeasure at one particular decision.
In a clash between Semenicul Văliug and Minerul Anin, the player in question - wearing the number 10 shirt - received his marching orders for what appeared a rather innocuous coming together with an opposition defender.
As the referee went over to brandish an admittedly surprising red card for the offender, he was met with what can only be adequately described as a devastating running headbutt that left him in a crumpled heap and reportedly nursing a broken nose.
The severity of the incident is quite something and the referee, to his immense credit, got straight back to his feet after the sickening blow.
You can watch footage of it above. Thanks to the fine folks over at 101 Great Goals for the heads-up with regards to his jaw-dropping story.
