The US Open pairings have been released and there are some tasty line ups jumping off the page. Defending champion Justin Rose will tee it up with perpetual runner up Phil Mickelson who is looking to win his first US Open to complete the set of major wins and joining them will be Sheffield born Matt Fitzpatrick. The 2013 Open Championships low amateur will turn professional straight after the tournament making this is his last as an amateur.

Elsewhere Sergio Garcia and Jason Day will line up with Brandt Snedeker whilst Rory Mcilroy goes off with Graeme McDowell and Webb Simpson. Northern Irishmen Rory and G Mac are previous winners and Rory especially goes into the tournament off the back of some great form

Last year American Billy Horschel finished in a tied fourth, he starts with Robert Allenby and Billy Hurley on Thursday and caught up with Golfing World’s Cara Robinson at Pinehurst to tell her why he loves the venue.

Let’s hope we see some more of Billy’s antics this weekend, that’s all for today, join us tomorrow when we’ll have the final build up to the US Open. In the meantime follow us on Twitter @golfingworldtv and we’re also on Facebook and Instagram.
