The WWE, according to reports, have signed independent wrestling star Kevin Steen to a contract.

Steen has been linked with a move to the organization for a while now and WrestleZone has reported that he has finally made the move.

Widely considered one of the best wrestlers on the independent circuit, Steen has been a Ring of Honor World Champion in the past.

The Canadian, whilst not possessing the typical built akin to the current crop of WWE superstars, is highly respected for his mic work

Before he makes the transition Steen will complete his commitments to the Ring of Honor company but following that the 30-year-old will link up with the NXT performance center in Florida.

It remains to be seen when we can expect the veteran independent wrestler to appear in WWE but they will certainly be keen to accelerate his progression.

WWE fans meanwhile can look forward to some legendary confrontations with Mr. Wrestling, with Steen known to interact with the crowd on a regular basis during his time with ROH and Pro Wrestling Guerilla.
