With the World Cup set to begin tomorrow, Germany are considered to be one of the favourites to reach the final stages of the competition.

Having reached the semi-finals in the last two World Cups, Germany will be expected to reach the same again or do better. With the strength in the squad, there's no doubt that they will be expected to top their group and at least reach the final.

Joachim Low has one of the best teams at his disposal this summer. The German team have world class players in every position, from Manuel Neuer at goal to Miroslav Klose up front.

The striker just became Germany’s all-time top scorer after scoring in the friendly against Armenia taking his tally to 69. He also has the chance to become the top goal scorer in the World Cup being just one goal behind Ronaldo.

Klose will definitely want to break this record and have a record of the most goals scored in the World Cup, and he will also want to sign off with a good World Cup.

Germany were recently hit by bad news that Marco Reus won’t be able to play the World Cup due to the injury he suffered against Armenia, and this will be a huge blow for the team.

Even without Reus, however, the team has considerable talent to win the World Cup. With the likes of Schweinsteiger, Khedira, Kroos and Gotze in midfield, and Klose, Ozil, Muller, Podolski and Draxler as forwards they boast one of the best attacking lines going into the World Cup.

Germany are going into the World Cup in excellent form after winning nine out of ten matches in the qualifying round and must believe this is their year.
